For our fourth and what would be
final session due to the fact that I was leaving Tallahassee, Hee-Jin and I
began discussing his next project as he had turned in the paper we had
previously discussed the last two meetings. His next project turned out to be
his dissertation as he had finished the necessary prerequisites and gotten the
okay form his mentor to start. We discussed possible avenues of his research
and it seemed he had settled upon a further step in his mentor’s thesis. This
involved talking about how Shakespeare didn’t necessarily follow the same
scrutiny as other writers due to the timings of his work. It was very
interesting and he showed me the research he had already done on it. After a
little more discussion, we reviewed some common errors that had popped up
during a four sessions and I asked him to critique me a little bit so I could
improve as well. The main thing he said is I talk very fast at times, a criticism
that popped up in my teaching practicum as well.
