For the third session, I now had a
complete draft of Hee-Jin’s paper. This draft was a little less than 15 pages,
much had been added since the three-page outline we had worked off of last
time. I once again started the session off pointing out a few odd phrasing
sentences I had come across in my readings. This took about twenty minutes as
there was a lot of back and forth due to the fact that some words meant
different thing in the context of his field than I was used too. Rather than go
straight into the Q&A like last time, I had Hee-Jin introduce the paper to
me as he would to a normal class. For being somewhat of an impromptu speech, he
did very well. There were a few pronunciation issues, however, if I simply
asked him to repeat the word he was very good at fixing his own mistakes.
Following the intro, I proceeded with any leftover questions I had.
