The last workshop was focused on wrapping up the people in
our group’s final project. Saaid was supposed to have printed out pictures that
showed different aspects of each of our cultures, but he was in Miami over the
weekend. We drew 3 large circles that overlapped in areas, representing each of
our cultures to compare and contrast. The middle section had aspects of our
cultures that were the same for all of us, which was kind of hard to do, but we
put things like giving to charity and going to school for an education. Then
there were parts for things that just Dubai and Ukraine had in common, and so
on. I really enjoyed learning about everyone’s cultures and getting to know the
people in our group. Everyone was respectful of each others thoughts, ideas,
and values and I learned a lot from both Lina and Saaid. I hope I can visit the
Ukraine and Dubai one day to experience their cultures for myself.
