The first cultural workshop was centered around a couple worksheets we were provided with before hand. It was about the Iceberg worksheet we had also used in the speaking class that I observed. I thought it was a very engaging worksheet because it helped to breakdown different aspects from everyone’s separate cultures and allowed us to compare and contrast. After we broke off into groups for our cultural workshops, I met Saaid from Dubai and Lina from the Ukraine. We then went over another worksheet we had where we filled out a bubble map of ourselves and things about us. Since it was our first workshop, we were going over what was to be expected and introducing everyone in our groups, so we didn’t have time to get through the entire worksheet. We started brainstorming before it was time to go and talked about each of our cultures in general. We did begin to learn interesting parts from each individual culture, as well as Lina and Saaid’s lives, which was exciting.
