We
opened our lesson by having a short conversation about our week. After this we
once again went over the main topic of stories. Marg said she really needed to
work on paraphrasing this. Thankfully, I had observed a class the week prior to
this where the teacher taught the difference between summarizing and
paraphrasing. I had Marg identify the difference between these two things,
which she already knew! After that I gave Marg a few small excerpts from
stories (about three sentences), I then had her paraphrase each of these for
me. From there, I critiqued her paraphrasing and told her what areas she could
improve.
