Per usual, I start off the lesson with having Seoha trace some
letters! I know Seoha likes to draw so for this lesson I decided we should
write a story. To start, I have Seoha pick of topic of her choice. I ask her,
“What should the title of the book be?” and she responds “Princess”…works for
me! I ask her what is the princess doing, then what does she do?, how does it
end? I think this tests her comprehension skills because it is easy to decide
on a topic but it is much harder to elaborate on the topic. For the most part,
Seoha had a hard time at this. However, this just gave me a better teaching
opportunity and I realized she is probably not ready to tell her own story. I
would let her draw illustrations for our “book” which kept her engaged.
