My very first tutoring session was with Yuma, who was
awesome. I was honestly pretty nervous at first, but he was very easy to talk
to and assess. He is from Japan and is 24. He was level 4, so I quickly figured
out that some of the lessons I had planned for him were going to be a bit too
easy and would need some adjusting. The first session was very conversational
and I learned a lot about what he wanted to learn and focus on, as well as his
goals. Speaking and writing were two of his main priorities, because that’s
what he got the lowest score on in the TOEFL test. He needed higher scores in
order to get into FSU and pursue his dream of Sports Management.
