After speaking briefly about our days Marg expressed to me that the hardest thing for her is listening…understandable. I think in most cases listening can be the hardest part of learning a new language. Marg seemed discouraged so I explained to her that listening is extremely difficult because people tend to speak too quickly to understand (when it comes to an unfamiliar language). This was the perfect topic for me to help Marg with because the lesson plan I had for listening was for a level 1 class which is what Marg is! If you don’t remember, this was the Full House video clip listening plan. I showed Marg the video clip and she loved it because she said Full House was her daughter’s favorite show. I showed Marg the clip and first had her explain to me what happened…after this I had Marg do the same activity as I had our class do which was a dictation activity. Marg struggled slightly with this and told me she would like to go over this the next time we meet again.
