Juliana CW#6

The final cultural workshop was not exactly a workshop. Instead, I went to see the students's final presentations. They were set up in the conference room and people walked around as the students talked about their poster boards.
I did not work with any specific group this time. Instead I walked around and observed the projects in the room for a short while. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay for the entire time but I did get a chance to see several of the boards. I was very impressed with the students speaking skills. I remember meeting some of them 5 weeks earlier and they were so shy or they did not know how to express certain ideas. This final project presentation really showed how far they have come in such a short amount of time. I was astonished. For example, when I first met Jamilla, she was very shy. She did not speak much at all and only answered questions that were asked of her. I felt like she was apprehensive because she was not confident in her English speaking skills. By this 6th week, however, she was amazing. She spoke with confidence and conviction. It was really amazing to see this transformation, not only in her but in all the students!
