Demery TP-15
This was so bittersweet! My final tutoring session with Astin made me really sad. I never knew if what I was saying was getting through to him, but I guess I made a difference because he was disheartened to hear this was my last day. (It must be hard for him to have an endless of cycles of tutors coming and going, but I digress.) We did some more exercises from his new book and since we focused so heavily on reading comprehension earlier, I thought maybe he could dictate what we did next. He looked at the back of the book and decided what he thought would be the most fun. So, we did some matching phrase exercises and then worked on a maze (Astin loves mazes). Astin also had a math exercise book, and he was so excited to finish with some math problems. I taught Astin the secret of infinity, showing him that the infinity sign is really just a sideways 8. He was delighted to learn this, and beyond excited to show his mother. I'm going to miss Astin so much, but I'm glad we got to end on a high note!
