For this tutoring session with Chi, my Vietnamese tutee we went over reading passages that I found online on a online resource for English language learners, called ESLhome.org which provides a valuable resource for reading activities in multiple levels as well as comprehension questions on the passage. With chi we focused first on a the lowest level of reading a 200 level reading exercise about two sisters and a cat. Which she read aloud great with few errors. But when we went to answer the questions she did not do as well on comprehension. Some of the questions where on specific details. She struggled with comprehension on reading passages, she gets the overall picture but she needed help on getting the details, since it was a shorter passage I recommended she read it over a second time, already knowing the questions. I gave her the link to the site and shes able to review that on her own time after to improve on reading skills.
