Thomas CP #5

We had our penultimate cultural workshop on the 19th. Kyle briefed everyone on the project that the CIES students would be working on. Apparently, our respective groups are supposed to showcase cultural differences, which can be classroom culture, romance, hospitality, etc., between our countries and the CIES students are to present in a career fair-type fashion. We received an outline on how the project is supposed to be made and after a few minutes of figuring out what to do started listing topics on what to talk about. Our countries are Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Burkina Faso, and the US and as we went through the list we asked the CIES students something that is particular about that certain topic to their culture, such as the 90 degree hand raising in Vietnam and serving tea in Burkina Faso. The brainstorming activity was really fun and it allowed us to get an objective perspective of our own culture.
