On Thursday July 7th, I met with Astin for the fourth time. I was supposed to meet with him on friday, but I received a message from his mother telling me that they were on campus. I quickly made my way to the Stone building. Our topic was reading comprehension. I found some good, level appropriate worksheets for reading comprehension. The worksheets might have been too easily accessible because Astin said his token phrase: “Wait a minute, I read this already!” Whether or not he has actually read it before begs to be seen, due to the fact that he says this for nearly everything I bring him. Yet, I must remember to try and find something truly obscure. It’ll be win-win. If Astin isn’t faking, he’ll finally get a new reading source. If he is, at least I’ll know it. Our tutoring session was cut somewhat short when another group entered the space we were using. Luckily, we still had plans to meet friday, so we were able to finish what we started on thursday.
